Pot Noodle

The Brief

Pot Noodle – popular sustenance of students all around the country… need we say more?

The Loony Letter

Dear Sir/Madam,

I found a Chicken and Mushroom flavour Pot Noodle in my cupboard the other day. It was well past its best before date, but I ate it anyway.

I’m sure it doesn’t take a genius to work out that the damn thing tasted disgusting.

Do your Chicken and Mushroom flavour Pot Noodles normally taste disgusting, or was I just unlucky?

All the best,

Bill Bennett

Dear Mr Bennett,

I was concerned to learn of your recent experience with an 89g pack of Chicken & Mushroom flavour Pot Noodle.

The product that you sent to us had past it’s “best before end” date, We would not recommend that the consumption of our products once they have passed their best before date.

We would like to reassure you that all our products are manufactured to stringent quality guidelines to ensure they meet the high standards expected by our consumers.

In the circumstances, whilst I am concerned to learn of your experience, we cannot accept liability in this instance. However, as a gesture of goodwill I hope you will accept the enclosed with our compliments.

Yours sincerely

The Review

They can’t “accept liability” for what? The trauma of a bad-tasting Pot Noodle? Hang on… is there such a thing as a good-tasting Pot Noodle? Still, they sent us £2 of “Unilever Bestfoods” coupons, redeemable against such brands as Marmite, Bovril, and of course, the infamous Pot Noodle.
