The Brief
Another “product suggestion” letter, this time we came up with a new computer game idea… virtual sleep simulators.
Yes, we know. It’s a stupid idea. That’s the point.
The Loony Letter
Dear Hasbro,
As you are at the cutting edge of PC game development, I thought you might like to hear my idea for a new game.
I am sure you are aware of the massive success of titles such as Sim City, Sim Island, and more recently the “The Sims” series of games.
Also, I’m sure you’re aware that when people get home from a hard day’s work, they can often be heard saying “gee, I’d love to go to sleep about now”. Thus, sleep is a popular activity.
Why not combine the two concepts to create “Sim Sleep”? I think it would be a great success.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this.
Yours,
Bill Bennett

The Review
OK, so “Sim Sleep” probably wouldn’t sell.
The confusing bit is that Hasbro are saying “we don’t do this, write to Hasbro instead”. But – you ARE Hasbro – aren’t you? No, obviously not.
What is the world coming to…
