The Brief
In these credit-crunching times, people are finding it increasingly difficult to put food on the table, and have a varied, yet nutritious, diet. So who’s to blame us for looking into new ways to feed our loved ones?
The Loony Letter
Dear Pet Care Expert,
My girlfriend really likes your Bonio biscuits. She tried one as a dare and now she’s hooked.
She doesn’t like them dry, she dunks them in her tea. Apparently, they taste like a custard cream crossed with a digestive.
I’m a bit worried at the amount she’s eating. Is it OK for her to be munching on these things almost every day, or is it going to do her some kind of damage?
On the plus side, will it make her teeth healthy and strong, or give her a nice shiny coat?
Many thanks,
Bill Bennett

Dear Mr Bennett
Thank you for your enquiry regarding the human consumption of Winalot Bonio Biscuits.
We would like to assure you that Nestle Purina’s overriding concern and responsibility has always been to produce nutritious, palatable and above all, safe foods for pets. However, these biscuits are designed specifically to meet the nutrient profile for dogs, which have very different nutritional requirements to humans, While we do not believe there is an immediate health risk to your girlfriend, we do not recommend that she continues to eat this product.
We hope that this information has been helpful and if we can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to use the above telephone number.
Yours sincerely

The Review
We can never vouch for whether a dog biscuit really tastes like a cross between a digestive and custard cream, but we can definately say that we probably won’t try it – we wonder if no “immediate health risk” means that they believe they could kill someone off a few decades after eating one. Scary.

No, i used to eat them when i was a kid, they taste like meaty biscuit.
Has to be better than a soggy biscuit!
